Removing glued hardwood and tile

swtsaeMarch 25, 2012

Our house currently has tile in the kitchen and glued hardwood throughout. We are looking to removed the glued hardwood (on concrete) and wasnted to ask the following:

1) whats the trick to removing glued hardwood to concrete in order to lay down new tile through out

2) when removing the wood floors and the tile is it best to totally cover the ac vents and return or just returns or just vents? I know it will be dusty should i just turn the ac off all together and cover bents/returns?

Cover up the vents.

There are power-driven tools that will help you do what you want to do. Search Youtube for examples of the tools employed. Also, consider farming that portion of the work out to a company that does removals.
