locke stove co.

delladeeDecember 15, 2007

I have a warm morning model 460. How old is it? Was it designed to burn wood or coal? How can I know the brick are intact and can it be revitalized? Is it valued as an antique? It has served my family for many years as a primary source of heat and I am trying to determine if I should keep it or let it go. I like the novelty of it, the centimentality of it and the practicality of having a back-up heat source. But a newer model could better serve my needs if refurbishing is unreasonable.

Thank you,

Delladee

Just bought a house on Cape Cod with a model 460 in it.

Don't know anything about it and have the same questions as Delladee.

Can it burn wood besides coal? Please, any info out there.

Thanks
