How to reupholster

celloiseMay 11, 2014

I'm a novice (I can't sew a button) trying to reupholster some chairs. But, I can't even figure out how to take the cushion thing off to begin with! There aren't any screws on the bottom holding the cushion on. Do I need to cut through fabric first or something?

I cut off the fabric and still can't figure out how to get the seat board thing off!

Are you sure it doesn't just pop out? Have you tried pushing (not too hard) from the underside?

If that doesn't work, in the middle of the bottom of each wooden side piece, there seems to be a screw hole. It's possible there is a long screw in each of them that holds the seat on.

Yes, the holes in the middle of each side rail has a counter-sunk screw, that holds the seat to the frame.
