Need List of Good & Bad Victorian Upholstered Furniture Makers
I am totally new to this site. I am trying to furnish my home, starting with the living room. I am looking for upholstered furniture with a more or less Victorian look with exposed, carved wood frame. IâÂÂll be hitting estate sales, auctions, craigslist, resale shops, etc.
I would like help compiling two lists.
One of companies that that have always used solid hardwood blocked, glued, doweled or screwed frames whether the piece was made yesterday or 80 years ago.
One list of companies who sometimes resort to frames of soft wood, plywood, MDF, or other âÂÂengineeredâ wood products or who resort to stapling or nailing frames together.
IâÂÂm only looking for the two lists above for companies who make, or have made, exposed carved wood upholstered furniture in Victorian/Queen Anne/Georgian/Regency like styles.
I appreciate any help this forum gives me in my quest.
