mosaic marble bathroom floor tile - honed or polished?

graceshanFebruary 11, 2012

I love the carrara marble hexagon tiles (see link below) for our master bathroom and possibly the kid's bath floors. But I'm not sure whether to go polished or honed. Any opinions either way or is it merely an aesthetic thing? Our home is coastal craftsman with white cabinets and trimwork throughout. Our shower tiles will be glass. Don't know what counters yet.

Thank you!

I prefer the honed. Seems like a bit easier maintenance to moi.

Yeah, I didn't think about maintenance... good call! I'm leaning toward honed too.

I used a honed marble hex on the floor in my powder room. It doesn't show etching and scratches as easily as polished.

I used polished carrara on my last bathroom remodel and it does, indeed, etch pretty badly. There's a polish powder you can buy online but I never used it. At any rate ... HONED ;)
