converting wood fireplace to gas

We built a new home about 4 years ago and we are thinking about changing our wood burning fireplace to gas(It has a fan inside also)Is this possible?? Any idea about the cost??

You can do it cheaply, which is a mistake, or you can do it the right way, and get a direct vent insert, which is energy efficient, safe, and poses no hazard to indoor air quality. Prices vary and installation is a bit complicated, so you need to make sure your installer is capable. Figure about $4 thousand, sometimes a little less, depending on your particular fireplace and installation requirements.
