Cleaning a few bricks

andrelaplume2October 24, 2007

The prior owners used our fireplace often I guess. A few of the bricks around the glass set are blackened. We put an insert in at some point and I fear more discolored bricks behind it. Can these be cleaned? If so what should I try first?

Use spray foam bathroom cleaner. It works and is easy. They do this on HG TV shows all the time.

We used plain white vinegar and it came right off.
