Sofa Shopping

Hi all.

I've been researching sofas for a few weeks now and keep getting directed to this website so I thought I would go ahead and ask all of you for advice.

There is a fairly specific type of sofa that I'm looking for... primarily very firm and good quality. I live in NYC and have visited a number of stores. These are the three that have piqued my interest:

Natuzzi Avana: http://us.natuzzi.com/10/16/collection/26/sofas/18193/avana-2570/65/en-us/

Gamma Hilton: http://www.jensen-lewis.com/pid/00000939/Hilton-Sofa

BoConcept Lari: http://www.boconcept.us/Lari.aspx?ID=94506

As you can see, they all look very similar. I was also able to find another one that visually looks the same, although I haven't found one in person.

W Schillig Ella: http://www.schillig.com/EN_kollektion-us/modelle/12/193

This is what I've been able to find so far regarding these brands:

Natuzzi - possibly still good quality if it's from the Italy line.

Gamma - little to nothing, although their website goes into great detail regarding the manufacturing process. They are handmade but don't seem popular enough to have reviews anywhere.

BoConcept - lots of bad reviews regarding customer service, but can't find much regarding quality.

W Schillig - seems to be good quality but haven't found this particular model to sit on.

They are all in the $10,000 range, which is fine if I'm comfortable with the quality. It would really be appreciated if any of you have information to add regarding these brands/sofas or other reputable brands that may have something similar to the sofas above.

Thanks in advance.

$10k is pretty high unless it is a sectional. For the brands you put up there, $3-6,000 would be max. From your Bo Concept link, it showed prices $2295 for a sofa, $3795 for one with a chaise, and $6290 for a sectional. I think if you can buy those at those prices, it seems like a good value.
Natuzzi can be priced all over the map, they have low end to the high end. Just have to know if top grain and so on.

Contemp. lines should be lower than most traditional since the lines are straight and so on. Take that into consideration.

Thanks for the tips. I priced a sectional with high-end leather for each.

Safaviah is having a sale on these - 50% off through July 5. It takes 16 weeks to custom order them and they are WAY less than $10K - depending upon the leather, $5K is more like it, and that is for a large sectional in a mid-grade leather.

There's an ad in today's NY Times (Sunday, 6/19)
