free standing fireplace-clearence safety

msmitchMay 6, 2008

We just purchased a home with a Mendota Medallion Free-Standing Gas fireplace, not sure of the model number. We are about to do renovations on the house, but would like to keep the stove in its location because it has a brick hearth & brick backwall. There will be a new wall added to the right of the stove, what would be considered to be a safe distance for the stove from the wall.

appreciate any feedback on this. with thanks

I thought it would be helpful if I added a photo. I said the wall would be added to the right, not that it really matters I suppose. But it will be added to the left.
