Wall unit dilemma
I have a six year old, five piece wall unit made of solid cherry. Each piece is finished on three sides and can stand alone or as a set, either in a corner or along a wall. The center cabinet is an entertainment unit (52" wide x 25" deep x 78" high) and is intended to be the center of the set. We are downsizing and would like to sell the set but have been advised by two different auction houses that it would unlikely sell for more than $1000.00. Part of the issue is the obsolete entertainment center which was built to house a large 37" tv. Since the set cost in excess of $13,000 new, we are considering options. We have it listed on CL for $5000. If there is no interest we are wondering about removing the top half that housed the tv and have the bottom half finished as a buffet piece. Can't imagine if this is feasible or not. Does anyone have any ideas regarding other uses for these large tv entertainment centers? There must be a lot of them gathering dust. The other four pieces are a lawyer's bookcase, a glass door unit (same size) and rt. and left corner units. Thanks for input!
