Gas fireplace slow at start-up.

wittboytoyFebruary 13, 2007

I have a 6 year old majestic direct vent. When I flip the switch, it will hesitate for a second and then, BOOM, the fire lights with a vengence. Any thoughts? I am selling my house and would not like to scare off the customers.

What you have is called delayed ignition. It can have a variety of causes, and you should have the equipment cleaned and inspected to correct the problem.
