stainless steel chimney liner

boxerdogheidiJanuary 6, 2010

How long should a stainless steel chimney liner last. I am replacing my wood fireplace insert. It and the liner are 15 years old. The fireplace store told me I would most likely need a new liner. Do you think he is trying to scam me?

The one I have has a lifetime warranty as long as I only use coal, too corrosive.
