WANTED: blocking directions!

chery2August 1, 2004

I took two finished needlepoint chair cushions [different designs/colors] to a local upholstery place and asked how much it would cost to block them. The woman who works there upholstering furniture said, "Well, all you have to do is nail it to a piece of wood, spray it down with water, and let it dry." She indicated it would be very costly if I paid someone to do it.

Is this correct information? How much do I have to stretch it? How wet? Should the nails go in each corner, or in more places? TIA, chery-va
