HAVE: something I hope to identify!!

pattipatJanuary 12, 2003

What is this thing!? I'm decluttering and planned to get rid of this, but I've always wanted to know what it was and find it hard to get rid of without solving the mystery. I hope someone can help. I think it has something to do with some kind of needlework because I got it in a box of needlework supplies at an auction. This was the estate of two or three older ladies who had tons of needlework stuff...cross-stitch, sewing, quilting, crewel, needlepoint, etc. What I have is several pieces of wood with long bolts and nuts to connect them. You can see a picture at the kitchen table gallery (look for "trying to identify this")

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It sounds like you have one of the frames to hold needlecrafts,i.e. cross-stitching, quilting, etc. I have seen them in Hershnerrs magazines and others. They make it easier to keep the cloth tight for stitching and embroidery and leaves your hands free to work on what you need to. Hope this helps you. Wouldn't know what size frame because I can't see the picture either
