philips lcd tv problem

skeownDecember 14, 2007

I have a Philips model 30PF9946D/37B LCD TV, my problem is that my nephew snapped off the cable connection and now no TV. Not wanting to scrap a unit that has worked fine until this happened, I'm wondering if something reasonable can be done to salvage it? I opened it up and determined that the part that's broken is fixed to a board, so I suspect that the whole unit wiuld need replacing, but maybe it could be connected to the cable another way? I dont understand the various connections, S-video, composit video connection, analog componet video, HDMI, DVI and high definition component video. What would you suggest?

It's possible that part of the ciruit board broke off so that the connector couldn't be replaced.

A length of cable could be soldered directly to the board with a regular male connector on the other end, and then use a 'F' coupler.
