Wiring on multi-line telephone controller

cdsolNovember 4, 2008

I have a used Panasonic telephone system that I need to install. It is a Strata DK-24. Seems to be relatively straightforward - - there are 4 modular jacks for the 4 lines from the phone company, and a 25 pair Amphenol connector to feed the actual phone stations.

Is there any standard as to which of the 25 wire pairs goes to Station 1, Station 2, Station 3...etc? For example would Station be pins 1-4, Station 2 pins 5-8, etc? I found a .pdf file of a manual with installation info but it doesn't detail the individual wire pairs.

you NEED the install manual itself, not just the regular manual. not only could it be a wierd configuration, if you hook up wrong you can blow out the boards or the phones.

keep in mind that that amphenol connector mates pairs across from each other. pair 1 is pin 26 tip and pin 1 ring. pair two is pin 27 and pin 2, and so on and so forth. you count the higher pin first, as that is the top wire on teh punchblock.
