passive solar collector coatings

I live in northern KY, 41051, in a walkout basement (8" thick concrete foundation is exposed to the south) ranch with a brick veneer. What I would like to do is add 120sf of (old sliding glass 2x pane)glass to the foundation and vent it at the top and bottom from the inside. From what I have read the wall itself should be a sufficient collector / storage so I don't need room for water barrels. Should I consider the water? What paint or surface treatment would work best for the concrete wall? My idea deeply grooved tile mastic colored dark gray or black. I read something about black foil surface treatment to increase absorption. How much heat can I expect to produce? Will exterior vents at the top of the glass provide sufficient venting during the summer or do I need a overhang to shade the glass?
