Broken cable connector

star9763August 15, 2007

My son broke the silver metal thing on the back of the tv that the cable hooks into off. The tv is newer only two years old. Can this be replaced or is it just cheaper to buy a new tv?

Did it just damage the connector, or was an attached cicuit card destroyed?

On many of today's tv sets the RF jack is part of the circuit board which means it is likely expensive to repair. But you won't know until a tech looks inside.

Do you have a Cable Box? Does your TV have a "video in" and "audio in" connectors? If so, it is possible that you don't even need to use the RF in jack.
