Embroidery on cashmere

Anyone have experience on embroidering on 2-ply cashmere?

Not sure if it's a good idea or not and not sure of which stabilizers to use. I'm thinking iron on for back and then that onto sticky-back in hoop or just anything in hoop with spray adhesive and cashmere with iron-on left unhooped. And then water soluable on top. Does this sound right? And needle type and size?

Oh, and I only have a PE 150, so not sure if I'm crazy to try. I should probably try to find an old piece of trashed cashmere sweater or something to test on.

ANY ideas and suggestions would be welcomed.

Hi, I haven't tried it but I plan to. Pashmina is a type of cashmere. One of the suppliers of embroidery blanks who carries them (they can be had for less on ebay ...) notes "These work best with two layers of a Fusible Wash-away Stabilizer and we will not accept returns on pashminas embroidered using anything else." (ie Wet N Gone® Fusible stabilizer - iron on, then wash it away). You can go to allaboutblanks.com and look at pashmina scarves to see their note.
