Keeping cable box in another room

lisaharrisJune 25, 2008

Just got a high def LCD tv for the wall, and want to put the boxes in another room - not directly adjacent to the room the tv is in. Went to Best Buy, just for info, and the Geek Squad guy said that since they run on the same frequency as computers, phones, microwaves, etc etc, there is a good chance of static or other problems. The box would be going in the room with the computer and wireless router, and we already have problems with static on our phones. Should we just suck it up and leave the box next to the tv?

If these are normal wired cable boxes, then that has nothing to do with the frequency of computers, microwaves, or cordless phones.
