embroidery on heavy towels

persiancat_gardenerNovember 28, 2007

I am trying to monogram some very heavy towels for my son.

The problem I am having is the frame slips and jumps off the towel. How do I solve this....also, what stabalizer do you use for top and bottom of the towel? I have brother allageo. Thanks for any help......JB

The secret is not to put the towel in the hoop but to lay it flat on the top. Hoop only the stabiliser.
Place a basting box around your design using Embird or design one yourself in PE design or other digitising program. This then holds the towel in place.
I use a heavy weight stabiliser that you dampen and the towel sticks to it - sorry cannot remember the name of it and the label is long gone. I use Avalon or similar on the top. Hope that helps.
