Bernina bernette 340 Deco

ThirstonApril 23, 2007

I am highly considering the purchase of a 340 Deco and am curious to hear of user feedback and appropriate price points. I believe the machine will run me around $1000 plus the cost of software...does this sound correct? I feel comfortable with the dealer and look forward to the included instruction courses as I am a beginner embroiderer. They've even offered for my husband to attend as back-up. :) I've also read about a summer 75th anniversary of Bernina and wonder if I should wait and purchase then. I'm eager to get started, but am also a bargain hound. Thanks in advance for your input!

I almost hate to tell you this but I bought a Bernina DEco and hated it - I ended up taking it back and upgrading to the 200. I really had horrible luck with it and the shop owner said everyone else had the same experience.

I've had a deco 330 for 1.5 years and have used it maybe 3 times. The Explorations software that came with it is very hard to use and I've had nothing but trouble trying to get them to work with my new Dell laptop. I even bought a new laptop on recommendation from the dealer I bought the machine from. Nothing but problems.
