Valentine Cards 2005

AuntMaryFebruary 4, 2005

I bought a pattern from the Embroidery Library and they said you could embroider it on paper. I had never tried paper before, but it worked. I printed a quarter fold card, inside complete, and then with spray adhesive, put the front on my hooped stabilizer. Sewed out the image and then after trimming, sprayed the back of the front and pressed it to the quarter fold beneath it. Worked great and they are really cute. Also did a couple of hearts, but they were rather ordinary. I posted a pix to the Gallery on the Crafts and Decorations Forum.

If the design is too intricate won't it just "punch out" the paper? Especially the outline (acting like a tearaway stabilizer). I have seen them embroider on screens (great for coverning a hole in a screen (remove screen first (o:) a bug or buttterfly, etc. I guess u can almost embroider on anything - just watch your needle, speed and tension. (Does the paper seem to wear the needle more? any fuzz or debree?
