Flash drive - is it possible to store many photos at once?

janepaJanuary 29, 2009

I bought an HP 4G flash drive today and would like to store the 100 photos I have on my Lexar SmartMedia card. Is it possible to store all 100 with a couple of clicks or do I need to store each photo individually? My Olympus program gives me a choice of Select All, but I do not see where I can Save As for all of the photos at one time.

Thank you. Jane

yes, just select all, click save/copy/send to(whichever way your program lists it) and then choose the thumb drive. it will send them all over exactly as they are named now.

Just a note that putting lots and lots of pictures on a single card without a backup/copy someplace is Not A Good Idea. Flash drives/cards can get corrupted. While there is software out there that can recover them, it does not always work. It's also easy to lose one of those tiny things.

Something to consider as the prices of large memory cards/flash drives gets lower and lower. Spreading out photo files among several cards or drives may be a pain, but it limits your losses if one goes unrecoverable.
