I need help with my phillips magnavox 27" tv that I purchased back in the late ninety's. Tonight we had a power surge, the tv was on a power surge protector and the power got so weak and everything including the lights and computer was barely working and then my tv when black. It has a little line of color at the top of the screen. I unplugged it trying to reset it but nothing is working. Can someone helP???????????

Your TV got damaged and likely will have to be repairs or replaced.

If the lights dimmed, then you had a power sag, not a surge ... although there may have been a surge when it was restored. Does the surge protector indicate it has been blown? Typically there's an indicator light, or is it obviously burned/damaged?
