Schluter (for tile and carpet transition)?

hedgehoggyDecember 10, 2012

Just when I thought that the hard work of choosing flooring for our new house was over, I have to make another decision. We are building on a slab and the tile and ditra will meet the berber carpet and underpad. The flooring salesperson is asking me if I would like to use the Schluter Schiene or the Schluter-RENO-TK where these two meet. I'm not sure what to use. I like how the Schiene is less noticeable but it sounds like the reno-tk may prevent the carpet from lifting or fraying a bit more?? Anyone else have to make this type of decision? If anyone has any advice or pictures to share, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks! I should also add that I use a dyson vacuum as well. Not sure if I should worry about the edge of the carpet at the tile due to the strength of the dyson.
