RECIPE: Looking for toffee bits

I have a great recipe for cookies htat call for toffee bits. Skor-Hershey used to sell them at grocery stores, but I have not seen them for st least a year. I was told by them they no longer make the toffee bits. Does anyone have a source for these? I have resorted to breaking up heath bars, but really don't want the chocolate. I want the bits!

Can you post the recipe? Can't have too many good cookie recipes (now that you have a source for the toffee bits.) Thanks.

This is the recipe I use. I love them! I buy my Chipits toffee bits at the grocery store. They are located with the chocolate chips.

Toffee Bits Cookies

2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1-1/3 cups Chipits toffee bits

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets.

Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Add eggs and beat well. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until well blended. Stir in toffee bits.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Yield: about 4 dozen cookies.

This is the candy part of an Almond Butter Candy from Betty Crocker. It works perfectly as "toffee" bits.

Butter Crunch

1 c sugar
1 c butter
2 T water
1 T light corn syrup
Heat sugar, butter, water and corn syrup to a boiling in heavy 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, stiring constantly. Cook, stiring contstantly , to 290F, 12-15 minutes (mixture will be light brown and thickened);remove from heat.
Spread in greased 9x9 pan. Cool at room temperature.
