Folding basket from a placemat?

heirloomtomatoOctober 11, 2010

Hello! I haven't been here for quite awhile so please forgive me if this has been discussed. I was at a Fall festival Saturday and they had these cute baskets made out of placemats. The sides fold up and tie and the baskets ends up being a rectangle. They had a handle and were stiffened with what felt like plastic canvas in the bottoms and side to keep the shape. I assume that they used two placemats and this was sandwiched in the middle. They had them in all different patterns and I am wishing now that I had bought one to use as a pattern. I did a Google search but couldn't find anything similar. Has anyone seen these and where would I be able to get a pattern for something like this?

Thanks! Karen
