X-Post: Cold Water Filter (also posted in Kitchens)

We are now ready to purchase and install a cold water filtration unit in our new kitchen. I do not want a combined hot/cold water unit.
What type of unit should we be looking for? single cartridge? ... double cartridge? Which brand unit?

Looking for your recommendations ...

AquaPure (they are used commerically on ice-makers) makes a filter with a replaceable cartridge you can put under the sink, it will treat about 1500 gallons of water, for taste / ordor / sediment. It has a single cartridge about 3 - 4" in diameter and 10-12" long.

I have mine plumbed to the cold water for the tap and the refrigerator.
