Canning on a smooth top range
I have a Kenmore Glass top electric range and wondered if you can do canning on one? I wanted to purchase a big 21 qt or 30 qt pressure cooker/canner but I heard that the smooth range top will not get the pot hot enough to kill the bacteria, that the pot won't make good contact with the range and that the weight will be too much for it. Can anyone share on this subject? If I can't cook on the range, what is the best burner to get? Any good resources for the big pressure cookers and learning materials? I have alot of canning to do. Food keeps going up and I don't think it will level off any time soon. God Bless all of you during this Holiday Season and the coming New Year.
