grill/griddle on gas/ceramic

valtogAugust 25, 2007

I've been wanting to purchase a grill/griddle pan for some time now and I think I'm ready to take the plunge. I've enjoyed using my cast iron cookware while camping, but it somehow never made it into my kitchen:) I was looking at the Lodge cast iron grill/griddle, but became concerned because my gas range (ge profile) has a ceramic cooktop and the darn burners are 4 different sizes! Are these issues going to present a problem? Does anyone have any experience with similar issues or products? Thanks! Val

I am also considering a grill pan or double burner grill. (I'm using gas but all four burners are differnt) America's test Kitchen rated grill pans, and found non-stick aluminum to give best results. You might want to check this out. Also I have seen closely related "panini pans" which have a press included. Has any one used one of these for anything like bacon, sausages, etc?
