British loaf tin measurement compared to US

hepeskinJuly 28, 2007

I have been browsing through the Delia and Mary Berry British recipes - they both instruct one to use a 2 lb. or 1 lb. loaf tin for making quickbreads - can anyone tell me what the U.S. measurements would be? - 9X5; 8X 4.5 or some other? I know using the right size baking pan is important. Heather
