Water Softener Flooded?

splatsNovember 9, 2013

I had a valve leak on my water softener that flooded the inside with water. I scooped most of it out, but now I notice that all the pellets in the bottom have been turned into a giant lump of salt.

Does anyone know if this lump will eventually be used up - or do I need to clean the whole thing out and start over?

Are you talking about just the salt tank portion of your softener? If that is the case, yes, you should clean it out and start over with new salt.
