Microplane Rotary Grater report

asoloApril 6, 2009

FWIW....was in Table Talk yesterday trying to find replacement barrel for my Zyless rotary grater. They didn't have one, but I noticed the microplane alternative for the first time and bought one. Costs about twice as much as the Zyliss and is a little more involved for cleaning. However, IMHO, does superior job of shredding/grating. Faster, easier, and -- at least for hard Parmesan cheese -- provides a delightful, feathery grind. Really like it.

First use; early opinion. But I am impressed.

(No, I don't sell them. Just my opinion.)

I've had the microplane rotary grater for many years now, and I would agree with you that it is superior to the Zyliss. Funny though, I have so many other microplane graters, that I usually just grab one of them to grate parmesan.
