Ignitor in dryer suddenly doesn't work

Valerie EmmerichOctober 22, 2013

We had to move all our appliances into the living room so a new floor could be put down in the kitchen. The dryer worked fine when it was moved. Then, today, the guys from the appliance store moved it back to the kitchen. Dryer doesn't work. Guy says it's the ignitor. I say, could something have happened when it got moved back, causing the ignitor to break, or whatever? (I don't know anything about this stuff.) He kept insisting no. It seems awfully coincidental to me! (We checked that the gas was turned on, etc etc). Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Yes, igniters can go bad. Good news is it's a few dollar part, and easily replaceable.
