Monitor Images shifted 90 degrees to the left

samtom_gwAugust 13, 2011

New problem. I've put my printer issue on hold for the moment. I was making some notes on a legal pad and rested it on the keyboard like I done many times before. When I looked up all images on the screen had shifted to 3:00 o'clock assuming 12:00 is at the top (90 degrees to the left.) I've tried 3 system restores at all available times with no luck.

I'm using XP w/SPk 3 on a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop with 2 GB of Ram.

When I first reboot, all lettering for Windows, etc. appear normal until the "Welcome screen," then it's sideways.

Is this a monitor issue, software or what?

What can be done to fix it?

At the moment, I have the monitor turned sideways to save my neck. ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Thats the laying down in bed mode.
To lay the other way, or to set the stand on your head mode,,, try,,,, Ctrl + Alt + Arrow ...key combo.

Or look in Contol Panel for your graphic card.. settings there to turn that off usually.

Hi Mikie,

Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. That's just what I needed.

Many thanks, Tom
