whirlpool access opening

tommya1October 14, 2012

Hi. I want to install an American Standard or Jacuzzi whirlpool in a new bathroom. Both tubs require an END access opening for pump access. The end of the tub is on the outside of the house so I cannot provide end access (even though I will have side panel access). My question- I can make an access panel in the adjoining bedroom for other side access but this will be good enough?

Thanks

Tom

I don't know if you've considered a Sanijet, but no access panel is required. The motors for the jets are individual for each jet and can be accessed from the inside of the tub for replacement or repair.

I am not a contractor, but I am planning on installing a whirlpool that requires access from the side, and my contractor recommended putting the panel in the adjoining bedroom. That panel will be behind our bed, so it won't be visible. So I assume you could do that, too.
