Need help choosing professional 30" gas range

jzinckgraSeptember 16, 2012

We're building a home and starting to look for our appliances. We seen several at various appliance stores. My wife lovers to cook, but does very little baking. We were initially considering a 36" range, but it won't fit and now looking only at 30" LP stoves. Was also pushing for 5 burners, but read it may not be worth it and/or necessary. Anyways, our budget is $3000 and we'd be looking at gas burners and oven, although we did look at some convection ovens. Brands we've considered are Bertazonni (a304ggvxe) and DCS as well as GE. The Bert looks nice and is priced reasonably at $2300, but honestly, not really sure where to focus for the type of cooking we do. We would really like a stove that not only looks good, but more importantly is functional. I should also mention that we will be using LP, not natural gas, so our BTU avail. will be lower, which may also dictate what stove we should consider. Thanks for any suggestions.

American Range Performer Series ARROB430L is $2,999 with free shipping at link below. Most places it is $3299.

It is a high performance liquid propane open burner model.

There are plenty of threads discussing open vs sealed burners and discussing AR Performer Series.

In summary, this is the highest performing 30" LP range for under $3k.

Another option, depending on how final plans are, is to get a separate rangetop and oven. This lets you get an electric oven which is generally easier to use, and lets you focus spending on the cooktop. Bluestar and Capital have LP offerings.
