Help! Medicine Cabinet

pebbles81October 22, 2012

Hi there,

I was over on the kitchen board a couple of years ago when we redid our kitchen in Chicago. We just moved to COral Gables and are gutting an Old Spanish house.

I started looking at medicine cabinets for our master bath and yowza! I can't figure out which ones are good and worth the money?

Considering going custom, but I am not sure that I want a wood medicine cabinet. I really like the look of the RH ones, but I did a search on here and read that they are junk?

Can someone recommend an inset medicine cabinet that is mirrored on the inside (preferred but not necessary) that has pretty good stoarage for what it is?

I'd prefer to spend no more than 300 some if that's even possible?

Also I am not sure of the appropriate size of the medicine cabinet...our vanity is 31" side. It's this one actually:

Faucet Direct carries Kohler and other brands and the prices are pretty good. I got a Kohler for the guest bath and will get another one for my master remodel - I like the ones with mirror in back of the shelves as well as on the back of the door. That works great for looking at the back of your hair! Most of them can be totally recessed.

If you scroll through the items, or choose the "framed" option, you'll see that Nutone has some framed designs. But I don't like the insides of the Nutone med cabs - they are old-style ugly.

We are in the process of adding a small ensuite and just purchased our medicine cabinet from Ikea. Many different sizes and styles to choose from at much better prices and quality than we found elsewhere.
