Ok to convert microfridge?

NJuserAugust 23, 2013

My daughter used a microfridge (which has the "safe plug" technology) in college but is done with it now. My son needs only a dorm refrigerator. Can I just remove the microfridge from the top (attaches with brackets) and plug the refrigerator cord directly into the wall rather than into the microwave?

Should be no problem since the power limiting feature for the two appliances is located inside the microwave cabinet.
