? re AVG Tray Monitor

sue_vaJune 8, 2010

ZA Security Alert: AVG Tray Monitor is trying to access the trusted zone.

Smart Defense Advisor info has the usual questions. I haven't made any changes or upgraded.

I have AVG 8.0.

I don't remember ever seeing that Alert before.

Should I allow or deny?

HPMedia Center XP SP2

TIA.

Sorry I just googled AVG Tray Monitor is trying to access the trusted zone. and look for the AVG Link on Google.

Try the search, only because I don't know the answer to the question.

Zep, I googled before I posted my question. I didn't find anything even closely resembling any help for the problem.

I just clicked Deny and so far no problems.

Thanks.

I always allow it as it has something to do with AVG updates. If you deny it you won't get automatic updates.

jane is right so allow it. I just wondered why you see it know and have not seen it before. Probably an up-Date from zone Alarm.

Can't allow it now; already denied it.

I have AVG 9.0 which is the latest, and ZA 8.0298 which I assume is the latest.

If the message comes up again I will allow it. Thanks always.

You can always go in and modify the programs that are allowed. I don't have ZA installed on my current PC, so I can't remember how to do it, but I've gone in and changed my settings after the fact in the past.

Right click on the Zone Alarm icon on your tray. Open 'Restore Control Center.' Click on Program Control and 'Programs.' Look down the list with the check marks and question marks. Anywhere you see AVG mentioned, click on last box and then click 'allow.' You will see the question marks change to green checks. I allow everything with AVG.

This is what I see. Only a few green check marks.

Access and Server at the top, with Trusted/Internet under each. No "allow" that I see. Not sure where to check.
