Bulb heaters?

ecnyxSeptember 20, 2012

Hi All,

I am trying to remodel my bathroom, and right now I have an old-school 3-bulb heater. It has a metal housing, and there are 3-bulbs arranged in a triangle (I don't think anyone uses these anymore).

I really don't like the look of this heater lamp, and I am trying to find a replacement. Something like these more modern looking ones:

My main issue is that, for whatever reason, the bathroom ventilation fan is installed as a seperate unit, so I don't need the exhaust fan option in these heat lamps. I'm really just looking for a ceiling bath heater with light option but no fan, unfortunately most units have all 3 (fan, light, and heater).

So my question is, does anyone know if there are any issues for NOT hooking up the fan circuitry, and just using the heater and light option?

Then, there is also the issue of the heater fan versus exhaust fan. I don't know when they say "fan" if it's a fan used for ventilation, or a fan used for blowing the heat through the grill, or both?

I hope my question makes sense.

Thank you!
