Cleaning up grout

emmi331September 18, 2012

I am sprucing up my bathroom. My old "mudded in" subway tile is actually in very good shape, but the grout in some places is really gray. I found that I could scrape away the gray with nail scissors (!) but it's only somewhat effective, and I don't think it's the best way to do this. Is there a small power tool that would do this, or a way to whiten up the gray? I tried a bleach stick, to no avail.

Thanks for any help....

Pick up a Dremel tool with an extension wand and 1 or 2" diamond wheel.

Works great for cutting out old grout from thin joints like that.

Thanks, Bill! Do you need to replace what you removed?
