Can't use Safe Mode -XP- Ransomware

Pooh BearMarch 18, 2013

I booted a computer up normally. It has some variation of
the ransomware virii on it. I need to remove it. (not my computer).
Normally, I would boot into safe mode and install MBAM
on the computer and remove the virus that way.
I booted into safe mode, and the ransomware screen came up.

If I can't boot into safe mode to remove the virus,
how can I remove the virus another way.

Computer is a Dell running XP home edition.

You might look at the Avira rescue cd
Think they are the one that puts it out monthly .. seems ok the one time I used it.

Boots from cd and scans/removes.
