Little succulents! Oh, my.
When I first saw your beautiful Dickens table on the other post, I was in awe. The houses down the middle with their little windows lit up and reflecting in the glasses and silverware and the snow and little village scenes, I thought about how lovely it would be to have Christmas Eve dinner at that table. And now you have gifts of succulents all around. I am at a loss for words...
BTW, the addition of the green place mats is perfect, they really enhanced your place settings made the silverware sparkle and made it all come together and look polished and finished. Thanks I have really enjoyed seeing your holiday table and reading about the process that went into it, Donna

OA, as always, you're one of the most creative people I've ever known. I love how you come up with so many wonderful ideas for your decor, your table settings, and your guests. And from past photos, for kids who come too.

The Hostess with the Mostest.....yep, that's you.

hugs, Karen

This reminds me of holidays with the in-laws. My MIL always had a hand made "favor" at each place. I now hang them on my Christmas tree each year. They give me lots of memories and reminders to pray for all those who gathered at their table.

Rats! I thought I'd fixed it.

Please accept this tiny plant.
ItâÂÂs one that you will find,
May have a hue or funny form,
ThatâÂÂs often quite maligned.

Some say these plants are real weird.
I say, âÂÂThey are unique.âÂÂ
And I am hoping you will find
TheyâÂÂre modern and très chic.

Succulents are worry free,
From time to time, you dust âÂÂem.
But they can grow on air alone.
And water just might rust âÂÂem.

In the Land of Practical,
Their purpose is not blurry,
They add a touch of Interesting
Without the need for worry.

So take yours home, choose its place,
It thrives in any site.
In a corner, shadeâÂÂs OK,
But it prefers the light.

And donâÂÂt forget from whence it came,
For this you can believe:
We are so thankful you are here
Tonight, on Christmas Eve.
I took 8 plants to a retired teacher pot luck last night, so I wrote an alternative ending.
You can use this alternate verse and substitute the words "our house" for the person's name if your party is not on Christmas Eve.

And as it grows (or maybe not),
YouâÂÂll see it and remember,
How we came to laugh and eat
At JeanneâÂÂs this December.
