Pics of Almost-Finished Shower

jaidogAugust 7, 2012

Finished just the shower portion of our master bathroom. Will be attacking remainder of bathroom in a year or so. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice! Wall tile is 12x24 Eleganza with Schluter profiles and black slate inserts. Floor tile is 2x2 mosaics from Daltile.

Can't figure out how to get multiple pics in one posting, so here's the next pic.

Elegant! Very nice tile work. How did you do the thick piece at the top?

numbersjunkie:

Not sure which thick piece you are referring to. The top and bottom horizontal pieces are Schluter Designline 1" wide metal profile. The tilesetter installed them between the porcelain wall tiles. The darker 3" wide strip in the middle is black slate.

OK I see now. At first it looked like the top row of tile was thicker than the rest. I thought it looked nice. But now I see its a metal strip. looks great!

That's about all there is to show unless you want to see the rest of the bathroom which is outdated and will be redone in a year or two.

Thanks for the comment about the clean lines -- we were hoping to achieve a clean, modern look, and I made sure the tilesetter knew what we were going for. Grout lines between the 12x24 porcelain are 1/16", and 1/8" in the floor since the mosaics were already connected to each other.
