Just bought the LG Range

BravoDesignJuly 15, 2013

Just bought this LG electric slide-in/free standing Range.

Does anyone have the same one? It's the one with convection but no warmer drawer (I didn't want nor have use for warmer drawer - def. not worth an extra grand).

Are you happy with it?

Maybe ask if people are happy with it before buying?

Most people who are limited to electric MUCH prefer induction cooking rather than the old fashioned radiant. It's a more efficient use of energy as the heat is transferred directly to the pan. It also has the instantaneous response that people love about gas, but doesn't put 60% of the heat produced into the room like gas does. It wins on all counts but being a cheap choice.

>>>" It wins on all counts but being a cheap choice"Unfortunately true when looking for a slide-in as the OP is. Probably even more expensive in Canada where the OP is buying that LG slide-in.

Of course, that LG slide-in is not inexpensive --- I'm guessing $1700 to $2000 -- but the two least expensive induction slide-ins are the GE and Kenmore (a re-badged Electrolux) which currently seem to be running around $2800 to $2900. Sales and promotional pricing can sometimes take them down around $2400, if you can wait and have the budget. And, of course, there will be the Canadian sales taxes, too, which apparently adds to the cost.

The LG seems like a newish product, so BravoDesign may have to write the first review.
