to be gutted tomorrow!!! I am nervous and excited! I thank all of you for posting all your experiences, it has really helped.
Here's the old vanity area....
Here are the new colors- it's a beachy theme...
Those look great, looking forward to seeing the final results!
I'm sure you'll be so pleased with the result. Your materials look great. I was so happy when I got rid of my 70s harvest gold baths.
I have the 1962 version of your yellow bathroom. Same exact tiles, but yellow and grey fried egg shapes on formica countertop. I will watch your new bath with great interest as ours is going, too. Soon. Very soon. Keep us posted. Your selections are lovely.
You'll be very happy.
First day- gut
Third day- walls up, floor ready, tub in place---funny- the wallboard is an exact match to our painted cabinets!
tub area- this is during the longest heat-wave too. Tomorrow everything needs to dry out- no contractors here in the am- yahoo!
Did anyone ever think Harvest Gold looked good? What did they put in the water in the '70s that made people want avocado or harvest gold kitchens and bathrooms? I mean '50s pastels and '60s aquamarine or coppertone also look dated and of their era, but at least they still look attractive even today.
I absolutely agree with you lee676. What were they drinking/smoking?! I had two bathrooms with harvest gold, one was harvest gold and a dark brown the color of... well, you get the picture. Why would anyone want a bathroom in those colors? I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished bath patty__em. It's coming together very nicely so far.
