Pairing a copper vessel sink with a white counter?

snarkyinlaJune 23, 2012

I need to get a sink for my powder room and I want it to be small. The counter is 23" wide x 21" deep. I found a copper vessel that is (allegedly) 12" in diameter, but my countertops are blizzard ceaserstone quartz. I've had several people say the pairing won't look good together (too modern a counter against too classic/tribal a sink). My overal decor is "tribal" ish (lots of african/tibetan/indian pieces) but the nearby kitchen will have espresso cabinets and white, corner-edged countertops.

I have looked for pics on houzz and seen only a few undermount copper sinks against white. Has anyone done this? And/or have opinions on it?

(also for those knowledgeable about copper sinks, do you think this on is OK quality for a low-use powder room)?

Here's the sink:

That's a really cool sink! I like the blizzard white counter too. I don't think you will have any problem with these coordinating nicely. 1)You've got a theme going that these elements coordinate into--they are not a standalone statement. 2)The copper is not the bright shiny copper, but the more muted burnished copper which will play nicely with the white countertop. If it was the bright shiny copper, I would hesitate. I've posted some links below to copper sinks with white/offwhite countertops... Now the big question is what will the faucet look like?

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I've seen that Miner's Pan sink and its exactly what I want looks-wise, but its too large. The handles aren't moveable, and with them its 21" and my vanity is only 23" long so it would take up the entire space. Most of the images are on cream or cream-accented counters, and mine will be stark white. But I am definitely leaning toward it! The faucet I'm waiting until I decide on a sink, but I don't think that will be too difficult to find, this sink is only 3" high...

I'm not sure how a copper sink would look against a stark white counter but that's a pretty sink! I think if you have other cool and warm elements in the room it may work. I do love brown and white together, generally.

Do you know how to photoshop? I'm visual and need to see something before deciding on most design choices :-) Unfortunately, I do not know how to use my Photoshop.

This is my hammered copper vessel sink in the powder room. I bought it on ebay and I believe it was made in Mexico. There's no overflow so I used a bar sink open drain. Love this sink.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have photoshop 8-(. I think in the end I just have to go for it!

FYI I decided to go for it. It's one of my favorite rooms in the house. The pics unfortunately don't do it justice
