faucets

mshrinkJune 26, 2013

I have just had my bathroom cabinets refaced and new granite countertop installed. There have been many, many problems. I almost feel like I'm being punked! The handles on one door were crooked, the hot water came out of the right handle, etc., etc. I find now that there is hardly any space at all between the faucet and the backsplash... probably about 3/4 of an inch. It's very hard to clean back there and is driving me nuts. There is about 3 1/2 inches between the front edge of the sink and the end of the countertop in front. Couldn't they have moved everything forward a little bit to give me more space behind my faucet? Was I supposed to ask for "cleaning space"? Does anyone know if there is some kind of standard space they should have left??

Thanks!

3 1/2" - 4" in front is standard. I have 4" in front and 5 1/4 " behind the sink for my faucet.

How deep is your countertop front to back and what size sink do you have? Vanities usually are 18" or 21" deep, so if yours is 18" or smaller and you bought a standard size sink, they may not have had any room to drill the faucet holes. But they should have discussed this with you.
